Feria Para Aprender returns to Austin for the 6th consecutive year!

What a year!

2011 will go down in the books as one of Feria Para Aprender’s most successful years. Thanks to everyone involved with the Feria, we were able to expand the program to Dallas and Miami. Los Angeles shattered all previous attendance records with over 40,000 people joining us for the third annual Es El Momento: Feria Para Aprender. Guest speakers shared their stories about achieving goals, and hundreds of organizations participated across all markets.

With this in mind, we have many new things planned to continue to kick things up a notch.

Starting with Austin, we will be utilizing an additional 20,000 square feet of venue space and adding several new Zones to Feria. Teen Zones will showcase programs available to the older kids who attend the Feria. These zones will stress the importance of being active in school and involved in STEM activities. A new Anti Bully Zone will help families understand the ramifications of bullying (both physical and cyber forms) and will highlight some of the resources available to help kids manage these issues.

Our special guest this year in Austin will be Milka Duno. Milka is an accomplished engineer, spokesperson, and racecar driver. She will be giving several presentations throughout the day stressing the importance of getting an education and encouraging children to pursue careers in science and technology.

Be sure to join us on January 28 at the North Austin Event Center to experience all the new activities we have added and to kick off the 2012 Feria Para Aprender season.

Here’s to a new year full of Ferias!
